Durga Prasad Sharma, also known as Professor D.P Sharma is an Indian professor, rehabilitation counseling technology expert, author. He was born on 1 May 1969 in a dacoit-infected village nearby Chambal ravines area district Dholpur, Rajasthan.  D.P Sharma has been honored by numerous awards and degrees for his tremendous contribution to the field of social services, academic, rehabilitation support for persons with disabilities.  He is awarded Godfrey Phillips National Bravery Awards in 2018 and an outstanding service award in 2009 by SBMS (Spring Branch Independent School). He is also a member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers in the United States of America.

Early Life[edit]

Durga Prasad Sharma's early life was very struggle-full because of his physical disability due to post-polio paralysis in the right leg and left arm. With all his passion and enthusiasm he became Professor of International Repute. He Says – “Yesterday I dare Struggle, today I dare to win”

Academic Career[edit]

Prof. D.P. Sharma has received many awards, honors, and medals for his wide spectrum of contributions to social services and in information technology. He is a member of twenty-seven National and International scientific organization including the United States of America, the United Kingdom, and Germany.

He is also known in the field of India media as a freelance columnist for publicly speaking his views with the mind of steel and consequently has sparked the occasional controversies.  In 2015, he is awarded Sardar Ratna Award in the memory of Independent India’s first Deputy Prime Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. In 2018, he is awarded as Peace Ambassador International Award for his technical education work and IT management domain. As a freelance columnist in India Media, he started writing on issues relevant to the national democratic system, social and technological transformation in general. Rajasthan Patrika endorsed and appreciated all work executed by him.

Swachh Bharat Mission, Research Contribution and Prof. Durga Parsad Sharma[edit]

In 2017 honorable Prime Minister of India asked him to join and support Swach Bharat Mission as a messenger. In 2018 D.P Sharma is appointed as honorary Expat Member of “International Advisory Doctoral Commission” at Flemish University and Virje University under the international educational and technical program for up-lifter of research and technology capacities in developing country universities under “VLIR-UOS” Institutional University Collaboration Program by Flemish Universities of Flanders in Belgium.
