PROBALL pitch draft

Overview[edit]

It is the new sport created based on Association Football (Soccer) with reference to football sports such as Rugby, Australian Football and Volleyball.

Female players who have relatively smaller population can be mixed with men, so that the number of female field players required for the match is only 5. It is 11 players when men and women are combined, which is the same as Association Football (Soccer). Center-line divides the areas where 5 men and 5 women field players can play respectively.

There are big differences in popularity and status between men and women in football sports, but the founder, Takuya Nagata says "By playing mixed match shoulder to shoulder with men and women, it will encourage the spirit of men and women participating equally in not only the sports world but also the whole society." In addition to "men & women", combinations such as "adults & children", "people without disabilities & people with disabilities" can be combined as well.

The rules are designed in the way that you can enjoy as well as seriously compete. While creating the mixed codes, efforts were made to enhance safety without losing the attractiveness of football. Metal studs and blades of boots are prohibited to improve safety. Also, heading which the health damage is suggested by number of experts, is prohibited, and players use arms and hands instead of heads in aerial display. The reach points are higher than the heads and dynamic as players hit the ball by hand. And the possibility of head collision decreases as players do not compete each other with heads. Safety is improved, so that children and people who struggle in tough sports can also play with confidence. There is no difference in physical contact other than the aerial display, so that athletes and audiences both can enjoy tense competitions.

Since field players can also use hands for the ball above head, the aerial advantage of the goalkeeper decreases and the attackers’ advantage increases in front of the goal. Therefore it is more entertaining for the viewers. The field players can only hit the ball by hand, but can not grasp like goalkeepers.

Another advantage for the offensive side is that space can be relatively secured in the area where the ball is. Therefore more scoring opportunities can be found, and highly entertaining sports for both players and audiences.

Logo:

The logo was sketched by the founder, Takuya Nagata, who is also a creator, and shaping letters "ALL" of "The Ball for ALL" as the Propeller.

Match:

The match is 90 minutes in total with the first and second halves, which is the same as the Association Football (Soccer), but it is also the quarter format, and men and women switch left and right in every quarter.

In addition to exchanging the end (the goalmouth) of the pitch for the first half and the second half, men and women exchange the left and the right. So that the positions of the players change significantly during the match. Therefore, utility players are highly valuable. Also, there are preferred shapes and weak shapes of the team depending on the phase of the match. So the tactics, strategies and game plans against oppositions at phases of the match are also the interesting points to watch.

Founder:

Takuya Nagata was born in Japan and played football (soccer) for one of the biggest clubs in Japan. Later he coached in England, Spain, etc. He also attended football matches across Europe as a writer. During his time in the UK he witnessed various football sports in London, where people from many different countries reside, and this also influenced the ideas of Propulsive Football. He played Rugby Union as well and enlarged his knowledge. As a creator he has the flexible and prolific imagination beyond the boundaries. It can be said that he blended his creativity with the knowledge of football developed as player, coach and journalist, to invent the new sports "Propulsive Football".
