Prym (Variations: Pryme, Priem, Preim) is the name of an old patrician family from Aachen, Germany, whose ancestry can be dated back to the 14th century. In 1530, members of a significant branch of the family lay the foundation for the William Prym Holding GmbH, an internationally active conglomerate. The family is thus considered the oldest entrepreneurial dynasty in Germany and one of the oldest in the world.[1]

Since its ennoblement in 1630 by the Duke of Juelich-Berg the family carries a crest depicting a jumping deer on the left side and a golden key on the right side.[2]
