Shonte Barnes (born February 9th, 1987) is a American mixed martial artist currently competing as a welterweight out of Asheville, North Carolina. A professional since 2016, he has competed for Valor Fights, and Fight Lab MMA.

Barnes was born in Eureka, North Carolina, and moved to Asheville, North Carolina after graduating College. He started fighting in 2013.
College - Barnes attended Western Carolina University where he earned a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He also played football for Western in the Running Back position.

Barnes began his professional fighting career in 2016, making his professional debut at Valor Fights 37: Jesse Grun vs Eryk Anders . Barnes won against Tim Stewart via TKO in round one. He trains out of American Top Team Asheville, an American Top Team affiliate.
