Pyramid Poultry Co. S.A.E. is a fully integrated[6] Egyptian poultry company operating since the year 1980. The company began its operations by building a poultry feed and animal feed factory and a hatchery. The company imported fertilized eggs for hatching day old chicks and imported poultry feed and animal feed ingredients to produce and sell.[1] The company has expanded through vertical integration since 1980 into a variety of sectors and currently operates in 11 different sites.[7]

The Company is an Egyptian joint stock company established in 1980 in accordance with articles of law no.43 for year 1974. It used to be listed on The Egyptian Exchange (EGX on November 23, 2004). The company shares were de-listed on 2009 voluntarily and the shares of the company were removed from EGX database, to be traded via OTC market (deals market) effective 2009 trading session.[1]

The company opened a new fully automated feed factory for poultry and animals with advanced technology.[8] The feed factory has a production capacity of 100 tons per hour and has an estimated cost of EGP 50m[9]

The company established broiler breeder farms as part of its integration to produce fertilized eggs.[9]

2009[edit]

An environment friendly automatic slaughter house for poultry was opened. It is used to produce the company brand name Shahd Chicken fresh and frozen.[10] The automatic Slaughterhouse has a production capacity of 9,000 poultry/hour.[7] The company also introduced Shahd Greenland frozen vegetables to the market.

The company established broiler farms to produce its brand name Shahd Chicken.[9] The Broiler farms has a production capacity of 12m chicken per year[7]
