Quitodian meeting

A Quitodian meeting approach is one that maximizes engagement to the topic you want to discuss. It invites participants to engage first in how they feel and then their thoughts about the topic for which you are meeting about. This creates a meaningful and effective way to ensure a large group of participants are engaged from the start of the session. It helps to ensure each person is connected to and motivated to achieve the collective outcome which increases the likelihood of success for the session and the topic for which you are discussing. Quitodian approaches leverage coaching techniques to have each participant answer a set of open ended questions about themselves and their relationship to the topic.

Here is an example of a meeting structure that can be leveraged at the start of your workshop or session. Quotidian check in

  • 2 min physical warm up
  • 4 min looking back: reflect on what your team or organization has accomplished, the successes and challenges. Focus on what you have learned and how your team or organization has grown
  • 4 min looking forward: Thinking through the goals for a successful working session and/or what we want to accomplish in the day/session; what do we look forward to? what are the challenges ahead? How can we help each other accomplish our goals?
  • 4 min appreciation, acknowledgements, apologies: team members share
  • 1 min inspiration: share an inspirational quote or poem or story
