Ryan Kelly Moreland, born February 18, 1992, in Houston, Texas, is an American songwriter, actor, model, rapper, and singer. He is best known for his unique blend of hiphop and R&B, and his unorthodox lyric flow..[1]. His latest work includes his independantly produced album PS17 EP, which features tracks 'Ok Ok' and 'Otherside' - a #1 iTunes Most Favorite Single.

Early life[edit]

RKM Legend's passion for music started at 3 years old[2].He would listen to over 50 R&B songs[3]s a day. He would learn the lyrics of the songs by singing them to himself under his breath until he had completely memorized them. RKM Legend is the youngest of 4, a sister, Janet Moreland two brothers, James & Donte Moreland and parents Marva Taylor & Anthony Moreland[4]. RKM Legend's talent for the written word also presented itself early on in his childhood. At 6 years old he began writing poetry. This love of poetry matured and found a natural partnership with his passion for music. The unique blend of sensitivity and aggressiveness has been accreddited to the dicotomy of his upbringing. Part of RKM Legend's childhood was spent in Alief Texas, an impovershed area of Houston; while the other part was spent in the more affluent Missouri City of Houston.

Music career[edit]

RKM Legend's recorded his first R&B song in 2013 at Barron's Studio in Houston,TX titled "I Love Your Confidence". In 2016, RKM Legend dropped his very first debut mixtape, “Da MoCity God” under Jam Down Records[5]s, an independent label in Houston Texas. In December of 2016, RKM Legend left Jam Down Records and started his own Label - Legendary Music Team Records[6].

In 2017, PS17 EP was the first project released under RKM Legend's new label (Legendary Music Team Records). Some notable tracks include, “OK OK” featuring Famous Duggy and “Otherside” which was a #1 iTunes most favorite single off of PS17. The artists lil pump & smokepurpp have been accused of stealing RMK Legend's lyrics from the track "Ok Ok".

RMK Legend has won awards in the past for his songwriting capabilities. Recently he won 'Freestylist of the Moth' for his single 'Let it Be' on FreeStyle Writers[7]

Other work[edit]

RKM Legend entered into the entertainment industry by landing the role of Timmy Cook in Regis University's production of The Wiz.

In 2017, RKM Legend began his modeling career by appearing in Lucy Rac magazine. He is represented by modeling and acting agency Nine9.
