Radha Charitable Trust (రాధా చరిటబల్ ట్రస్ట)[edit]

The Radha Charitable Trust, named after Late Sri Radha Phanikar Osuri, was founded in 2014 by Srinivas Osuri and Nageshwar Rao Thota to support educational initiatives in underprivileged and marginalized rural Indian communities. The trust is headquartered in Narasapur, Andhra Pradesh, and works with primary schools in Narasapur rural area, which includes Lakshmaneswaram, L.B.Charla, Sarava, Dharbarevu, Chinalanka, Vemuladeevi, Chinamamidipalli, Kopparu and Saripalli to support students in continuing their education. A majority of families in the aforementioned villages depend on agriculture and fisheries for sustenance, leading to low, intermittent incomes.

Activities[edit]

In the past, the trust has donated notebooks and uniforms to children, furniture and stationery to schools, and covered transportation expenses to underprivileged children. It has also incentivized students by providing scholarships to top academic performers and students with high attendance rate, leading overall increase in average student attendance.The trust does periodic reviews of the conditions in the schools they support and liaises the situation to concerned educational officers and local politicians. As a recognized educational activist, Mr: Srinivas Osuri mentors, discusses career options, and motivates students to enroll in high school and college. According to the district educational officer, Ms: Pushpa Rajyam, the trust efforts together with other governmental initiatives have been instrumental in reducing the average student dropout rate in these schools by 25% compared to the previous three years.
