Raken Field Management
Raken is construction field management software. The purpose of Raken is to capture data in the construction field and communicate it in real time to a project manager or general contractor. The software was designed to capture the information via forms or workflows common to the modern construction industry such as daily reports, time cards, construction data analysis, and photo management. These workflows were traditionally captured via a pen-and-paper process until Raken designed an app to capture the same information through mobile technology.[1].
Based in San Diego, California, Raken is used by construction firms such as Clark Construction, AECOM, Skanska, Level10, and Hensel Phelps[2]. Construction companies such as these use Raken to standardize the documentation they receive from superintendents and different subcontractors, improving the flow of data from the construction site to the company's main office where the data is then analyzed, passed on to key stakeholders such as investors, and stored to protect the company against future litigation[3]. One of Raken's most significant advancements came in the form of real-time alerts notifying project managers of delays or safety issues on site.[4]
Funding and History[edit]
Raken was created by founder Kyle Slager in 2013 as part of a collaboration between software developers and over 100 construction project managers and superintendents[5]. Raken raised $2 million in their seed round of funding led by Rincon Venture Partners[6]. In 2017, Raken added Dr. Sergey Sundukovskiy as a co-founder, Chief Technology Officer, and Chief Product Officer[7]. Their Series A funding brought in $10 million led by US Venture Partners[8].
In 2018, Slager was named the Most Admired CEO of a Small, Privately-Held Company by the San Diego Business Journal[9]
