Rama Akkiraju is a Computer Scientist at IBM Research, Almaden, United States. She has been featured as one of the Top 20 Women in AI Research in 2017.[1].

Education[edit | edit source]

Akkiraju completed her Masters degree in Computer Science at the Utah State University in 1995 with a thesis on heuristic techniques.[citation needed] She also has an MBA from the New York University Stern School of Business, and a B Tech (1993) from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad.[citation needed]

Career[edit | edit source]

Akkiraju has been working on agent-based decision support systems, electronic marketplaces, and business process integration technologies[2]

In 2002, Akkiraju led an World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) standard in the area of Semantic web service.[3]

Research[edit | edit source]

She is leading the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Operations mission at IBM Watson group.[citation needed]
