Ramjibhai Virjibhai Pokar

Lt. Ramjibhai Virjibhai Pokar was born in Hindu Kutch Kadva Patidar family on 03-09-1925 in Kadia Mota village in Kutch district of developed Indian State Gujarat. He was very young when he loss the support of his father Virjibhai Vishrambhai Pokar. He was younger son and his elder brother Naryanbhai Virjibhai Pokar had took whole responsibilty of family. After getting success from agriculture he started sawmill and timber trading business. In 1945, he got married to Lt. Ratanben Ramjibhai Pokar. In 1942, he migrated to Karachi(now in Pakistan) for business. Due partition of India and Pakistan he again migrated to Kutch. Over there 1950 he is blessed by son named Nanjibhai Ramjibhai Pokar. Again due to business purpose he migrated towards Delhi in 1950 to start another sawmill. And again in 1954, he is again blessed by another son name Dayarambhai Ramjibhai Pokar. Then in 1958 sawmill in Delhi was swifted to Sambalpur, city in Orrisa.

Working history in orrisa[edit]

In 1958, sawmill was swifted and named as Delhi Sawmill which is currently running in Sambalpur city. Over there the construction work of Hirakud Dam on Mahinadi was started and at that time wood supplier for construction was Delhi Sawmill. In Sambalpur he got so much success in timber business. After his struggling and hardwork he again migrated to Obhla, village in Surat District
