Ratna Indraswari

Ratna Indraswari or Ratna Indraswari Ibrahim (Malang, East Java, April 24, 1949 - Malang, East Java, March 2011) was an Indonesian author. Despite being paralysed as a result of polio infection, which she contracted at age 10, Ratna was a prolific writer who produced over 400 short stories and novels, with her work featuring in a number of Indonesian mass print media. She wrote largely by dictating her work word-by-word to a typist. She passed away at the age of 61 as a result of a stroke.[1][2]
