RayBrent Jerome Hodge (born May 21, 1993) is an American rapper & songwriter from Hodgenville, Ky. Hodgenville is a small rural town of 3,500 people, and is mostly known for being the Birthplace of the 16th President, Abraham Lincoln.
RayBrent is the eldest of his mother's four children. At the age of 5 his family moved from the small town to the west end of Louisville, Ky. This is where RayBrent spent the rest of his childhood. He eventually moved back to Hodgenville at the age of 18 to focus on his music and started rapping with his older cousins as well as a few local friends. They formed a music group and he quickly found his own sound which made him stand out from the other talented members. In 2012 they released their first project, "Krazy Kentucky Kidz", which gained them a lot of local attention and notoriety.
In 2015 RayBrent started focusing more on his solo career. He released a few songs on SoundCloud and YouTube that were eventually taken down due to copyright reasons regarding the beats. In December of 2016 he released a series of videos on his YouTube channel to promote an upcoming project that was put on hold, so he removed the videos and deleted all his social media accounts to get his affairs in order. When asked what happened, in regards to disappearing from social media, RayBrent said "I have to get everything in my life in order legally and mentally... Then I'll drop something epic. I don't need distractions when I go on my run".
It's safe to say RayBrent will be bursting out of the shadows with a fire so strong the world will feel it. He is determined to put his hometown on the map and show the world the versatility and originality of his music. His first official single "Praying & Preaching" is due for release on streaming sites and digital stores on October 7, 2018.
