Reality Room

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Reality Room[1] is a ten-minute short film that parodies popular reality television shows such as Big Brother, Survivor, and The Challenge, along with Shakespeare's Othello. The game consists of "rounds" in which there is a competition and at least one player is eliminated. Each round begins with one immunity competition to determine the first player to receive immunity. This player then has the power to choose at least one other player to be granted immunity. The amount of players the winner chooses to have immunity usually varies based on how many players are left in the game. However, the amount of people can also be changed due to twists in the game. The players are then given the rest of the round to strategize and determine who they would like to be eliminated next. At the end of each round, all players privately vote for who they want eliminated, however, they are not forced to vote and can choose to opt. out of the process unless all players decide not to vote, in which case all players are then forced to vote or face ejection from the game. The player(s) with the most votes will be eliminated. If there is a tie, the tied players are up for nomination and all the other players must vote again. If there is still a tie and nobody is willing to change their vote, both of the players will be eliminated. In the final three, the players vote as usual. If there is a tie, a competition will determine which two contestants will move on to the finale. In the finale, the jury, a group of previously eliminated players, will vote on a winner. There is always an odd amount of jury members to avoid ties. The winner receives a cash prize that varies.

Contestants[edit]

The Reality Room contestants are all based on Shakespeare Othello characters.

Barbantio, the 31 year old from Venice, Florida, was the close friend of Desdemona and is known for being the first person to ever walk from the game in Reality Room history. However, on day 3, Barbantio voiced her concern to Desdemona regarding her and Othello's relationship. Desdemona told Barbantio that she would call off her showmance, but still continued it behind her back. Barbantio took notice of this and expected to be eliminated after the first week due to an argument she had with Othello, angering several other contestants. Once it was announced that the first elimination would happen after week two, instead of week one, Barbantio walked from the game because of her and Desdemona's fractured friendship and the hatred she had gained from so many of her fellow contestants.

Bianca, the 23 year old from Denmark, South Carolina, was the showmance partner of Cassio and is known for attempting to rally troops to defeat the Showmance Alliance. Bianca laid low for the first week, spending most of her time with her showmance Cassio. Bianca also told Roderigo, who told Iago, about Othello and Emilia flirting, which was a move to try and create a divide within the closely knit Showmance alliance. Bianca first got strategically involved after Barbantio walked from the game on day 7. She used her showmance Cassio and the seemingly oblivious Roderigo to create a force against the Showmance Alliance. However, when Roderigo saved Othello and Desdemona instead of Bianca and Cassio, it was obvious that they had been left out of the group, despite Othello's interest in Cassio. After Roderigo's fight with Cassio on day 12, Bianca knew that they were in trouble. Bianca quickly became the Showmance Alliance's target but Iago convinced them to go after her main man instead. When Cassio used his "No Elimination Card" on day 14, Bianca saw hope for her and her showmance's survival. When she found the secret advantage after the day 14 immunity challenge, she knew that she had to save Cassio by any means. She passed on her secret advantage to Cassio just after his first elimination on day 28 and after losing the immunity competition right after, Bianca sealed her fate as she was left to fight the Showmance Alliance alone, a fight which she failed to win. Bianca's jury vote went to Cassio.

  • Cassio

Cassio, the 26 year old from Athens, Georgia, was the showmance partner of Bianca and is known for him using Bianca's secret advantage to return and win the game. After becoming good friends with Othello in the first few days, Cassio managed to get Othello to grant him Immunity after his competition win on day 2. However, this outraged Iago and forced him to target Cassio, since he was his only competition to one of the most powerful players in the game. Cassio also assisted Bianca in recruiting Roderigo for their Misfits Alliance, which also got back to Iago and only made the target on his back grow. In week two when he wasn't saved by Roderigo, he and Bianca knew they were on the bottom. After Iago told Othello about Cassio's non-existent flirting with Desdemona, and Iago told Cassio who blamed Roderigo, Cassio had officially lost all of his alliance members, excluding Bianca. Then, after his fight with Roderigo on day 12, which was fueled by alcohol thanks to Iago, Roderigo informed Othello about what an aggressive person he is and how Bianca egged him on. This solidified Othello's hatred for him. While contemplating his fate at the kitchen bar in the later hours of day 13, Cassio found a hidden "No Elimination Card," which allowed him to completely stop the elimination, resulting in nobody being eliminated, yet again. The next week, Cassio was caught with Othello's bracelet, which he had given to Desdemona but was planted on him by Iago after he got Emilia to steal it from Desdemona, which made Cassio a dead man walking. When Roderigo was convinced by Iago to throw the special elimination competition, the team of Cassio and Roderigo was sent home, Roderigo being Iago's sacrificial lamb. However, on his way out the door, Bianca slipped Cassio the secret advantage she had found after the day 14 immunity challenge and he used this to return in the final three. Once Othello realized what he had done to Desdemona was a complete mistake, he quit the game, leaving Iago and Cassio to face the jury. Cassio won four of the five jury votes, Roderigo being the only vote for Iago, making him the first winner in Reality Room history.

Desdemona, the 21 year old from Verona, Wisconsin, was Othello's showmance partner and is known for being easily manipulated against Bianca, thanks to Iago, despite her good-girl attitude. Right off the bat Desdemona grew very close to Othello, despite Barbantio's warnings. Barbantio had come into the game being friends from the outside world but after she continued her relationship with Othello, which she assumed was being kept from Barbantio, she broke their bond. On day 2, Othello gave Desdemona his good luck charm; his mothers bracelet. She quickly grew attached to Othello but also began to find a good friend in Cassio and Emilia. Herself, Othello, Iago, and Emilia formed the Showmance Alliance on day 4, which practically solidified her defiance from Barbantio. On day 6, when everyone still assumed there to be an elimination on day 7, Othello and Desdemona made a deal with Roderigo that if one of them won immunity, they would save each other. Desdemona was crushed when Barbantio left on day 7 but she had already made the decision to choose Othello over her. Desdemona soon saw Othello begin to distrust her, due to rumors that she had been flirting with Cassio, who was not flirting and already involved with Bianca. Iago's rumors began the process of turning Othello against her. Desdemona had begun to grow closer to Cassio and after Cassio asked her for help with Othello, Othello lost even more trust due to how much she seemed to care about Cassio. After not being saved by Othello after his immunity win on day 21, Desdemona became even more aware of the gap growing between her and her Showmance partner. After having her bracelet stolen from her by Emilia on day 27, who was under the impression it was being "decorated for her birthday," Othello found it with Cassio, further pushing the assumption that Desdemona was cheating on him. After finishing second with Emilia in the elimination competition and Cassio's first elimination on day 28, Iago, after winning the immunity comp, also on day 28, convinced Desdemona to vote to eliminate Bianca, removing the last of the other side of the house. After being told that she was, in fact, the reason that Cassio lost the elimination competition on day 28, Desdemona followed through with the plan and ensured that the Showmance Alliance would be left alone on day 31. The following week, Iago told Desdemona that he and Emilia were choosing not to vote so that Othello could cast the sole vote this week, since it would be such a hard decision and that he had earned it. Desdemona believed him and Othello voted to eliminate her and Iago voted to eliminate Emilia. This caused a tie and they were both eliminated. Desdemona's jury vote went to Cassio.

Emilia, the 28 year old from Arden, North Carolina, was Iago's showmance partner and is known for being completely hypnotized by Iago, up until her elimination in round 6, which was ultimately the catalyst for Othello walking out at the beginning of round 7. Within the first day of entering the game, Emilia and Iago formed a close bond that quickly grew into a showmance. Emilia also became the very close friend of Desdemona, who brought her closer with Othello. As Othello, Desdemona, Emilia, and Iago began talking, they decided to create the Showmance Alliance on day 4. But then on day 5, Bianca, who was close to Roderigo, informed him that she saw Emilia and Othello flirting, while they were simply discussing their lives outside of the game. This got back to Iago who decided to not fully trust Emilia and to not trust Othello at all, after he had not granted him immunity, meaning he had gone against him twice within the first five days of the game. The pressure began to build after Bianca and Cassio's attempt to make the Showmance Alliance look bad. After receiving this bad rep, Emilia stayed low for round 2, hoping that everything would just blow over. However, during round 2 she stayed very close to Iago and was aware of the manipulation he was going through with, but was not aware that Iago was trying to turn Desdemona and Othello against each other. At the beginning of round 3, Emilia decided it was finally okay to come out of the shadows and start to play the game for herself. She went on to win the round 3 immunity challenge and saved Desdemona and Othello, as she wanted to give the stressed out couple a break from the stress of the game, since Othello had turned them into huge targets. After hearing that Bianca had instigated the Cassio v Roderigo fight on day 12, the Showmance alliance agreed that she had to go, as she was likely the biggest threat in the house. If Cassio had not played his "No Elimination Card," Emilia would have been completely blindsided by Iago and Desdemona's plan to get Cassio out. However, because the elimination was stopped, the blindside never happened and Emilia was still in the dark about Iago egging Othello on to break away from Desdemona. Emilia was then granted immunity on day 21 by Othello, along with Iago, as he returned the favor she had done by giving it to him and Desdemona the week before. Then, on day 27, after a relatively quiet week, Emilia was approached by Iago to get Othello's bracelet from Desdemona so that he could decorate it "for her birthday." In reality, Iago was going to place the bracelet on Cassio to make it seem like Cassio and Desdemona were a thing and that she cared so little about Othello that she gave it to him. The following day, Emilia was paired with Desdemona for the elimination competition and they placed second, sending Roderigo and Cassio out the door. The next round, she was convinced by Iago to eliminate Bianca, leaving only the Showmance Alliance left in the house. After Othello won the day 31 immunity challenge, Iago slowly convinced Emilia and Desdemona that the three of them would not vote to eliminate anybody, leaving Othello with the sole vote, since it would be such a difficult decision to make. But when Iago had accidentally spilled the beans about Othello voting to eliminate Desdemona just before the vote on day 38, Emilia realized that Iago had been the one causing friction between the two the whole season. However, it was too late and Desdemona and Emilia were blindsided by a tie vote when Iago voted to eliminate Emilia and Othello voted to eliminate Desdemona, successfully eliminating them both. On her way out the door, Emilia exposed Iago's dastardly plans to Othello in a big scene, making him realize that he had done Desdemona wrong for no reason, causing him to walk from the game just before the finale. In the end, she was eliminated from the game on day 38. Emilia's jury vote went to Cassio.

Iago, the 28 year old from Naples, Florida, was Emilia's showmance partner and is known for being the driving force behind the season's drama. Within the first few days, Iago formed a very close relationship with Emilia, which would quickly transform itself into a showmance. Despite his newfound relationship with Emilia, Iago had his mind set on winning the game, putting the cash prize before his relationships. He quickly scoped out the competition and saw that Othello was either going to be his biggest threat, or, his biggest ally. Othello and Iago made a final two deal, meaning that they would somehow get each other to the end, no matter what stood in their way. However, after Othello's competition win on day 2, he chose to not grant Iago immunity, instead giving it to Cassio. This angered Iago and made him realize that, as far as he was concerned, Othello was not an ally to get to the end with, but a tool he could use to get there. He set his sights on Cassio, his unexpected competition and began to not trust Othello. Iago then further rounded up his puppets by instigating the Showmance Alliance, made up of himself, Emilia, Othello, and Desdemona, on day 4. Iago's distrust in Othello was further implemented when on day 5, Roderigo, who Iago had chosen as his pawn for the season, told Iago about his showmance partner Emilia flirting with Othello, as reported by Bianca. This made Iago remove all emotions from the game as he was no longer sure that the could actually trust anyone. Roderigo also informed Iago about the Misfits Alliance' attempt on making the showmances look bad and turn against each other, further turning Iago against Cassio and Bianca. Before the round 2 immunity challenge, Roderigo informed Iago about the deal he made with Othello and Desdemona. Iago backed up this deal and made sure Roderigo saved them, making him closer to them and more useful, all the while still keeping Cassio and Bianca up for elimination. Now that Cassio could finally be sent home, Iago began to turn against him. Iago told Othello that Desdemona and Cassio had been flirting, and showing them hanging out, claiming that they were flirting, which isn't true. To ensure that he wouldn't be caught, he got Roderigo to also tell Othello about this happening, fairly explicitly, while Iago did it much more subtly. Iago then informed Cassio of Roderigo's doings and made Cassio think that Roderigo was in charge of the whole ordeal. Iago then pushed the tension between Cassio and Roderigo to the breaking point on day 12 by getting Cassio drunk and telling Roderigo to fight him. Due to his state, Cassio went along with it and it escalated, just as Bianca stepped in to break it up. Per his instructions, Roderigo went to Othello claiming that Cassio just tried to fight him while Bianca did nothing but instigate the situation. In round three, Iago got Emilia, who won the immunity challenge, to save Othello and Desdemona in order to keep them as close as possible. The Showmance Alliance later decided that they needed to get out Bianca, after her instigation of the day 12 Roderigo v Cassio fight, however, this didn't satisfy Iago. Instead, he talked Othello into also wanting to get Cassio out and Othello decided that they would keep this plan from the girls so that they wouldn't be able to inform Cassio of his impending doom. Even with their attempts to not have Cassio find out about this new plan, Cassio overheard it when Iago was catching Roderigo up. With Cassio using his "No Elimination Card" on day 14, the plan was derailed and put off for a later week. After being granted immunity on day 21, along with Emilia, by Othello in round 4, Iago wanted to take the opportunity to possibly eliminate Desdemona, since she was up on the chopping block. Iago talked Emilia into getting him Othello's good luck charm that he gave Desdemona on day 2 "for her birthday." Once in his possession he planted it on Cassio, who was asleep in the living room. Iago then told Othello that he should look and see if Desdemona has the bracelet. If she does, there's nothing to worry about, but if she doesn't, she has officially turned on him. Othello then saw the bracelet on Cassio, finally proving that Cassio had taken Desdemona from him. Once the elimination competition was announced on day 28, Iago decided that he should team up with Bianca, Desdemona and Emilia should pair up, leaving Cassio and Roderigo. Because Roderigo had begun to loose his usefulness, Iago saw no need to keep him around and told him that he should sabotage Cassio and get him to loose. They both ended up getting eliminated, taking out some heavy competition, and a seat-filler. Iago finally won a competition and granted Othello and Emilia immunity in round 5. While Desdemona could be eliminated that round, Iago decided that he should take out any chances of his plans getting ruined and just safely eliminated Bianca. To get Emilia on board with the plan, Iago told Emilia that in order to have the Showmance Alliance be the final four, they need to eliminate Bianca, convincing Emilia to go along with the plan. Iago told Desdemona that Bianca was the one that sabotaged Cassio, who Desdemona was very close to, making her also okay with eliminating Bianca. After Bianca's elimination on day 31, Iago went to work to put together the finale he wanted. Now that Desdemona could finally be eliminated, Othello was all up for getting her out. Iago hatched a plan where Othello would vote to eliminate Desdemona, Iago would eliminate Emilia, and the two girls wouldn't vote, meaning that they would be eliminated, due to the final four tie rules. Iago told Emilia that Othello was okay with getting Desdemona out, meaning that she, him, and Othello would be the final 3, ensuring the victory for one of them. However, she didn't have to vote out her best friend because Othello was going to be the sole vote. Iago also told Desdemona that neither he or Emilia was going to vote so that Othello was the only person making the hard decision, since he earned it. Just before the vote on day 38, Emilia found out about Iago turning Othello against Desdemona but in order to stay in the game, knew that she still couldn't be able to vote. At the elimination, Desdemona and Emilia were blindsided by the tie and just as she was walking out the door, Emilia exposed Iago to Othello, revealing all of the lies he had concocted all season. Othello was left with Iago but after Cassio returned, Othello was able to walk from the game, leaving Iago and Cassio as the final two. Iago proceeded to place second as he had lost every single jury vote, with the exception of Roderigo, throughout the season. With a four to one vote, Iago became the first runner-up in Reality Room history.

Othello, the 24 year old from Cyprus, California, was Desdemona's showmance partner is known for holding the record for most competition wins with 3 and completely betraying his showmance. Soon after entering the house, Othello began to develop a showmance with Desdemona, who was being warned against it by her friend Barbantio. While he had started to catch feelings for Desdemona, he was soon thrusted into the game when Iago proposed a final two deal with him, which he accepted. However, Othello also grew to really like Cassio too, someone who could be a possible ally in the future. Due to his blossoming friendship with Cassio and his budding showmance with Desdemona, Othello granted them immunity after winning the first immunity challenge on day 2, which rubbed Iago the wrong way. Although Iago was up in arms about the situation, Othello was more focused on Desdemona and he gave her his mother's bracelet, an item that had become his good luck charm over the years, proving his loyalty to her. *Not complete*

While some challenges were not shown, these are the results of everyone, as shown through Diary Room recollections. There is slight controversy over the round 2 immunity challenge. While Roderigo is seen winning and saves Othello and Desdemona, per their deal from day 6, there was no actual elimination that round, making the competition pointless. This earned criticism as this competition served no purpose and only made Roderigo appear as a threat, it broke his ties to several players, and it was ultimately the reason why he was so alone for a majority of the game. Othello's round 4 win is also controversial, as even though he grants Iago and Emilia immunity, they are still required to participate in the elimination competition, meaning that if they had lost, they would have likely gone home, therefore defeating the purpose of Othello being able to grant them immunity in the first place. While other rules may have been in place by the chance that either of those two lost, they were never publicly disclosed.
