Rentio Foods

Establishment

For more than 80 years, Rentio Foods has become a household name in India. It was 1930s, when Rentio foods commenced its journey. From then onwards, Rentio Foods has been the king of tuvar dal in India. The story behind its establishment is quite interesting. Shri Gordhandas Chokhawala, one of the elder brothers who started Rentio Foods, was fully involved in the 1920 Indian Struggle Movement. He has closely worked with Mahatma Gandhi and went on to become The President of Surat Municipality. He was the first mayor of Surat Municipal Corporation, and later became Education Minister in Gujarat Ministry. So, the word 'Rentio' was the obvious choice for the brand name.
