Richard Boland (born 15 February 1981) is an English actor and presenter, who in his younger years was in the pop band Y2K

Early life[edit]

At the age of sixteen he was cast in Willy Russell's Our Day Out in September 1996,[1] and the Belgrade Youth Theatre (BYT)'s version of Philip Ridley's Sparkleshark a stage play that was originally commissioned for the BTNational Connections, the UK National Theatre's youth theatre scheme in 1997. He was cast as Lenny in Picking Up the Pieces, a 1998 UK TV drama[2] serial starring Amanda Abbington

Subsequent career[edit]

In 2015 he was cast as Ellis in Danny and the Human Zoo[3] a British drama television film that first broadcast on BBC One on 31 August 2015[4] The ninety-minute film, written by Lenny Henry and directed by Destiny Ekaragha,[5][6]

In 2017 He was cast as Chris Abbot in Kulvinder Ghir's La La's Ladiez [2] a sitcom remake based on the popular Hum Paanch

He also featured in the music video Strong[7] by the band Sunday Club from the The X Factor (UK series 12) [8] for the charity Ditch the Label [9] and in the 2017 film Mera Mahi NRI[10] staring Harrdy Sandhu[11]

in 2014 he was announced as a finalist in Britain's Manliest Man campaign, designed to encourage men to "man up" and check for testicular cancer run by Bluebeards Revenge, cancer charity Orchid (charity) and Men's Fitness (British magazine)[12] [13]
