Rick Mandelson, born in 1938, from Ellicott City, MD. has raced SCCA since 1961 setting track records in Formula V in 1963, '64, and '65. He set a track record in a Cobra, FF, and in GT-1 and in 1969-'70-'71 he won 26 out of 28 races in the Formula V. In 1963 he was the Most 'Improved Driver of the Year' in the Washington D.C. and recipient of the 'Good Sportsmanship Award' in 1964. He was also a driving instructor for the SCCA from 1962 through 1980, and has been a 7 Regional Champion, the most recent in 1978.
