Robert Langford (1849 - 18 October 1915) was born in Gravesend, Kent. His family the Port Phillip Bay in 1846, Removing to North Melbourne, in 1850.[citation needed] He was a North Melbourne businessman whose business interests included supplying fish to the Melbourne fish market and developing property.[1] He married Mary Eliza Lillian Miller in 1872. In 1882, he was elected as Councillor of Hotham, in Melbourne's northern suburbs, which he did 2 three-year terms as. He served as Mayor of Hotham for 1 year. He had for some years past taken no part in public life,[citation needed] He died 20 October 1915,[2] at the age of 66,[3][self-published source?] and was buried in Coburg, Victoria.
