Robert Langford (1849 - 18 October 1915) was born in Gravesend, Kent. His family the Port Phillip Bay in 1846, Removing to North Melbourne, in 1850. He was a North Melbourne businessman whose business interests included supplying fish to the Melbourne fish market and developing property. He married Mary Eliza Lillian Miller in 1872. In 1882, he was elected as Councillor of Hotham, in Melbourne's northern suburbs, which he did 2 three-year terms as. He served as Mayor of Hotham for 1 year. He had for some years past taken no part in public life, He died 20 October 1915, at the age of 66,[self-published source?] and was buried in Coburg, Victoria.
