RoboGarden is an online e-learning platform that enables students from grades 1 through grade 9 to learn to code. The platform offers beginner to advanced courses in JavaScript and Python. [2] Its courses are aimed at beginners looking to learn coding skills for a career in the tech industry.

The RoboGarden e-learning platform includes structured lessons, topics, and courses, known in the platform as Missions, Adventures, and Journeys, respectively. The platform 'gamifies' coding by introducing visual blocks used by learners to progress into professional coding.

RoboGarden currently has distribution partners in approximately 15 countries across five continents. They are expected to grow into an additional 27 countries by 2019. The company was introduced to the Indian market as part of the Canadian Indian Tech Summit [3] [4] [5] RoboGarden is currently featured on the Hour of Code Initiative at Code.org alongside a small number of companies selected for all three levels of education (beginner, intermediate and advanced). [6] The company was also selected in the top 50 out of 76,000 global startups at Startup Grind 2018. [7] [8] [9]

In addition, The company was nominated as a finalist at the 2018 Global Educational Supplies and Solutions (GESS) awards for the Innovative Product of The Year. [10]

RoboGarden Inc. was officially launched on November 8th, 2016 and is a subsidiary of Micro Engineering Tech Inc. (METI), an engineering R&D firm founded in 2010 for the University of Calgary.[11]

RoboGarden was founded by three individuals:

Mohamed Elhabiby, who has a Ph.D. degree in Geomatics Engineering and EMBA degree in Finance. Dr. Elhabiby has 20 years of experience in R&D and the commercialization of innovation, particularly in geomatics engineering and software development.[12]

Bassem Abdullah, who has a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Miami, with a focus on brain imaging to aid in the study of Multiple Sclerosis.[13]

Naser M. El-Sheimy, who has a Ph.D. in geomatics engineering from the University of Calgary, and has 30 years of experience in geomatics engineering. He received a BSc (honors) degree in civil engineering and an MSc degree in surveying engineering from Ain Shams University in Egypt.[14]
