Rockhampton River Festival
Rockhampton River Festival is an annual arts and cultural festival held in Rockhampton, Queensland each July.[1]
The three-day event has been held since 2015 to celebrate Rockhampton being the heart of Central Queensland and the city's heritage, and its relationship with the Fitzroy River.[2]
Despite rain causing part of the festival to be cancelled in 2016 causing an expected financial loss, Rockhampton mayor Margaret Strelow gave assurances that the event would continue to remain an annual event.[3][4]
The Rockhampton River Festival was held again in 2017 attracting large crowds.[5][6][7]
In 2018, mining company Adani Australia was announced as the naming rights sponsor of the event.[8][9]
