Roger Galo

Roger Galo (born 1965) is an American Basketball shooting coach and trainer. He grew up in New Kensington, Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of Juniata College, class of 1980. Galo was a four year starter from 1975- 1979. In college, he was the leading scorer each season, second in Juniata history in career points (1,692), and 11th in career assists. He was MVP in his freshman season. He currently holds records for free throws in a game (20), free throw percentage in a game (.909), season (.865) and career (.779). He also holds three of top eight single-game point totals in school history, including: Juniata record 50 points vs. King’s College on February 3, 1979, a 47 point game, two weeks prior to his 50 point game. In his senior year, Galo set school records for points (582) and scoring average (27.7 per game, 3rd in nation). In 1997, he was inducted into the Juniata College Sports Hall of Fame.

Galo was the 3rd leading scorer in the country (NCAA Division III). After graduating, he was identified as an NBA prospect by NBA scouts and contacted by NBA’s Seattle Supersonics. Later, he participated as a shooting instructor at Five Star Basketball Specialty Shooting camps. After his own competitive playing days were over, he realized there is a way to dramatically improve a player’s shooting accuracy. Based on what Galo has done, he developed and now teaches The Galo System to all age groups of basketball players and coaches.

In 2010, he appeared on Comcast SportsNet Daily News Live Show, hosted by Michael Barkann.
