Biography[edit]
Early life[edit]
Park was born on February 11, 1997 in Auckland, New Zealand. She was raised in Melbourne, Australia, and studied at Canterbury Girls’ Secondary College.[1][unreliable source] As a child, Rosé had a lot of passion for singing, she was part of a church choir in Australia,[2][unreliable source] in addition, she was also part of the cheerleading team.[3] She is fluent in English, Korean and Japanese.[citation needed] She plays piano and guitar.[citation needed]
Rosé realised it is extremely difficult to debut as a singer in Australia, therefore her father encouraged her to apply to a Korean company. As a result, she moved to South Korea in 2012 at the age of 16, to join YG Entertainment as a trainee to pursue her career as a singer.[1]
Career[edit]
In 2012, YG Entertainment held an audition in Sydney, Rosé attended this audition and ranked first among 700 participants. She became a part of the YG Entertainment on the same day.[2] Rosé was a trainee at YG Entertainment for 4 years, and in June 2016, she debuted in the girl group Blackpink along with three other members; Jennie, Lisa, and Jisoo.[1] She was the last member to be revealed.[2]
In the same year as she joined YG Entertainment, as a trainee, she recorded the song "Without You" by G-Dragon.[4]
Rosé has appeared on variety of music programmes, including King of Mask Singer, Radio Star, and Fantastic Duo 2.[5]
As a member of Blackpink, she has been featured on many commercials, including Moonshot, O-Lens, Sprite, and St. Scott London.[citation needed]
In 2018, Blackpink collaborated with Dua Lipa, to record the song "Kiss and Make Up", which the song hold 11,000 downloads, according to Nielsen Music.[6]
