Rustom Palia

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Senior Commander Rustom Palia is an Air India pilot who avoided a major catastrophe on September 11, 2018 by successfully landing a Boeing 777 without the use of multiple instruments.[1] The aircraft he was piloting (AI 101) was carrying 370 passengers on board and the flight was originally scheduled to land at JFK airport in New York City.[2] However, it was rerouted to Newark airport because a landing without the aid of instrumentation was not feasible under the prevailing weather conditions at JFK. [3]

The incident received widespread coverage in the Indian media[4] [5] [6] [7] and was also covered by foreign publications like Newsweek and the Khaleej Times [8] [9]
