Sabrina Horn (born 1961) is an American strategic communications entrepreneur, business consultant, and author. She is known for founding and leading the PR firm Horn Group.[1] As of 2022, she is the President of HORN Strategy.[2] Her book, Make It, Don’t Fake It: Leading with Authenticity for Real Business Success was published in June 2021 by Berrett-Koehler Publishers.[3]

Career[edit]

Early career[edit]

After receiving her Master of Science in Public Relations from Boston University,[4] Horn moved to San Francisco in 1985 and started her career at Edelman Public Relations in San Francisco. She later joined Blanc & Otus.

Horn Group Inc.[edit]

In 1991, Horn identified a wave of business software companies for the PC (personal computer) and in her business plan, outlined a suite of new PR and communications services to help them build their brands. She launched her firm Horn Group, Inc. with first client PeopleSoft, Inc. Horn Group was acquired in 2015 by Finn Partners where Horn served until 2018 as Managing Partner of its Technology Practice.[5]

Horn Strategy, LLC[edit]

After leaving Finn Partners in 2018, Horn remained a senior advisor to the firm until 2020[6] and formed Horn Strategy, LLC, a firm dedicated to helping entrepreneurs and CEOs navigate the early stages of their businesses.[7]

Her work appeared in Entrepreneur,[8] Fortune,[9] and CEOWorld magazine.[10]

Board and non-profit activities[edit]

Horn serves on the corporate board of 4CRisk.ai (risk compliance GRC software), and on the advisory boards of: Dogly.com (pet products and wellness), KloudGin (field service and enterprise asset management software),[11] Illuminate Ventures (early stage venture capital),[12] and JEGI-Clarity (media and technology investment bank).[13]  

Non-profit board positions include board member and Treasurer of Dieu Donné (art and papermaking),[14] and Boston University Alumni Council.[15] She has taught leadership, entrepreneurship and marketing classes at Boston University, Hobart and William Smith Colleges,[16] and Emerson College.[17]

Education[edit]

Horn graduated from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in 1983 with a B.A. in American Studies. Her Baccalaureate Essay was entitled: Advertising in the People's Republic of China. She graduated from Boston University in 1985 with a M.S. in Public Relations. Her Master's Thesis was entitled: High Tech Public Relations for Emerging Growth Technology Companies in Silicon Valley.[18]
