Safe as Houses is five-piece alternative folk band from Kitchener-Waterloo.[1] They have been playing together for almost 10 years: since before high school.[1] Bensen Carter (bass, cello, vocals) and Elliot Anton (vocals, guitar, mandolin), brothers Andrew (guitar, keys vocals) and Thomas Laughton (drums, vocals) and Lauren Taylor (violin, violas, and vocals).[2] Andrew and Thomas are brothers. They met Bensen on bass and Elliot on guitar through their music teacher. They played together for about five years before they met Lauren on the violin through a mutual friend.[1]
