Saints Row is an upcoming action adventure film directed by F. Gary Gray and written by Greg Russo. It is based on the video game franchise of the same name created by Volition.
In April 2019, Deadline Hollywood reported that F. Gary Gray is set to direct an upcoming adaptation of the Saints Row video game series, with a screenplay written by Greg Russo. The film is also set to be a co-production between Fenix Studios, Koch Media, and Occupant Entertainment. In August of that same year, Russo gave more info about the movie, including that it would be "off the wall" and draw inspiration from Escape from New York, while also having a tone similar to Kingsman. No major updates about the movie had been given since then, until July 2020, when Russo took to his twitter with a picture of the screenplay with the caption "for real" to show that the movie was still happening.
