Salt City Jazz Podcast

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

The Salt City Jazz podcast is the only Syracuse, New York based podcast about the Utah Jazz. The podcast is hosted on Anchor (app).[1] Hosts Greg and Shaun riff on recent happenings in the NBA world focusing on Utah Jazz news, predictions, and history. The hosts also discuss pop culture, current events, various challenges and life events. Greg and Shaun (last names unknown) met while getting their undergraduate degrees at Syracuse University.[2]

Seneca Falls Content[edit]

Recent emphasis has been focused Finger Lakes region and the presence of a criminal in Seneca Falls, New York.[3] Greg has tasked himself with keeping his listeners up to date with the latest news of the Seneca Falls Strangler, including positing potential suspects. Suspects have ranged from a local rapper and philanthropist Bricksonion, a Kyle S, and even Greg himself at times.[4] The hosts created a website to keep listeners up to date on the latest news in the Seneca Falls, New York and Finger Lakes region.[5] To date, the Seneca Falls Strangler has avoided justice.[6]

History[edit]

Podcast creators Greg and Shaun began this podcast following short stints with other media ventures. Greg began his broadcasting career at WERW (student radio) during his time at Syracuse University.[7] Greg and Shaun started their professional partnership with a first pass at generating the Salt City Jazz podcast. This was short-lived, but allowed them to take their creative output to co-host with an additional two other members of the Syracuse University community to make the Three Guys and a Dad podcast which gave listeners weekly parenting advice.[8] This podcast did not last due to parental duties, time zone differences, and poor listenership.

Greg and Shaun next turned their attention to a media revolution in the making. First airing in 2017, Young Sheldon caught their attention and immediately shifted their focus to generate a podcast entitled "The Young Sheldon Podcast."[9]. This was also short lived as the hosts realized they don't actually like Young Sheldon.

Greg and Shaun decided to reboot Salt City Jazz in late 2020 and are actively making episodes.

Episodes[edit]

Episodes from the previous iteration of the podcast have been removed from the internet and only episodes from the second iteration of the podcast are available to stream. Episodes are listed below with the published podcast abstracts.

Episode 1: Episode 15-the Travis Scott Meal The two hosts of the podcast try and review the Travis Scott Meal for the first time. The meal includes a burger, a french fry, a barbecue sauce, and a Sprite![10][11][12] Sprite is a soda that is clear. Also, they discuss the MOST RECENT Utah Jazz news. Wow, much excite in the Utah Jazz atmosphere these days!

Episode 2: Christmas Special Episode The two hosts try the McDonald's Rib sandwich and redraft the 2013 NBA draft.[13] Kind of crazy that a 20 minute long podcast can be summed up in one sentence, but in this case that's exactly what happened. Party on.

Episode 3: The Famous Math Episode Special Shout out to Lucille's Math Class. Math it up! Shout out to Rob Anderson for helping make this possible. We take a deep dive into the Seneca Falls Strangler Case. With your help we can figure out who it is!

Episode 4: The Geography Special Happy Holidays to most of the listeners! Watch along as things get crazy as the hosts talk about the mysterious science that is Geography. They also discuss Elijah Hughes and the Jazz rival team (the Lakers).[14] Very good episode.

Episode 5: We Interview a Survivor of the Seneca Falls Strangler Please help us catch the Seneca Falls Strangler by getting all your friends to listen to this podcast. ONLY YOU CAN CATCH THE SENECA FALLS STRANGLER. Happy New Year, Can't wait for 2022!

Episode 6: The Special Steve/Postponed Episode This episode was very controversial and the government kept making us postpone it. It is finally legal for us to post it though, so here it is. We talk about 6th man of the year to be Jordan Clarkson and other things as well. Shoutout to Steve.

Episode 7: The Chile Miner Incident Episode - Special Content Episode The Crew discusses the 2010 Copiapó mining accident as well as cool topics such as The Jazz, Dominos, and the BIG Announcement. Stay tuned and keep updated for more content! Can't wait to see everyone on the next episode![15][16][17]. The hosts discuss with shock that NASA was brought in to help with the rescue mission.[18]

Episode 8: March Madness Preview - David Can't listen to it The crew gets back together again via Zoom to record a new episode. It has been a while due to an issue regarding a Ukraine Hacker. Hope you enjoy as the two hosts phone it in with a lack-luster effort to discuss things you probably only partially care about!

Episode 9: March Madness Recap - We Survived March Madness This episode is in honor of Nigel our intern, whom we have not heard from in awhile and we are seriously concerned about him. This challenge has no relation to the famous March Madness NCAA college mens basketball tournament that happens every year.[19] [20] [21]

Episode 10: Lost Episode Number 1 "The episode that we lost where it is announced that we are going to make a podcast." As this episode is only 45 seconds long, is reminiscent of scams that Spotify have cracked down on.[22][23]

Episode 11: The Fan Mail and New Year Resolution Epispde - 2021 The Crew opens up the Fan Mail Vault to read some fan mail as well as write an interesting email to Aldi.

Chris Chrisington A 6 year old named Chris Chrisington was banned for 11 years due to the podcasts NC-17 rating
