Samrat Reddy[1][2] (born 15 April 1985) is a Hyderabad based Indian Entrepreneur who founded Drunken Monkey (smoothie bar chain) in 2016.

Education & Career[edit]

Reddy did his Electrical Engineering from Chennai and worked with Infosys in their Melbourne office for some time. Later he attended University of Strathclyde, Scotland, for a one-year MBA programme and did a thesis on smoothies.[3] He then worked with family-owned steel plant, Delta PEB in Hyderabad for 4 years.

Drunken Monkey[edit]

Later in 2015 Reddy started experimenting with smoothie recipes, coming up with standard formulas for each of their signature smoothie blends and establishing a 120-member central operations team. In the first year, Reddy set up four outlets in Hyderabad. The number grew to 50 outlets in the second year.He created the Tagline 'Naturally High' for the brand.[4]

Founded with the investment of INR 4 Cr, the Drunken Monkey (smoothie bar chain) has created 170 varieties of smoothies, made from natural ingredients, without preservatives.[5]The outlets are run in a franchise model with some of them being company owned. Reddy plans to take the brand Global after strengthening its presence in India.[6]
