Sanzhar Rakhmetzhanov (born January 22, 1979, Almaty) — a Kazakhstani entrepreneur.[1], co-owner and the president of investment holding corporation INTESSA Group[2], which controls such companies as KPSP engineering and design institute[3], Ust-Kamenogorsk Industrial Valve Plant (UZPA)[4], SecureTech Corporation[5], Eurasia Engineering & Construction, INTESSA Technologies, TransInfoTech[6]. Co-founder of Swiss Commerce & Engineering[7] and Eurasia Commerce.

Biography[edit]

Born on January 22, 1979 in Alma-Ata, Kazakh SSR. Kazakh. Has two university degrees. In 2001 graduated Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (International Law Faculty). In 2003 graduated Shipping and Transport Management Faculty of London Institute of Shipping and Transport.

During the years 2001 - 2013 was the vice-president of oil service company Caspian Services Inc., commercial director of petroleum chemistry holding The Rompetrol Group, the director of trading company KazRosGas A.G., held various positions in the management of Kazakhstan National oil and gas company KazMunayGas, particularly in Kazmortransflot, KazTransOil and Kaztransgaz.

The controlling share of KPSP engineering design institute was bought from ОСК Group JSC in 2014, in cooperation with Arman Esmurzaev, a business partner. From May 2016 is a co-founder and the president of INTESSA Group, from January 2016 - Chairman of the Board of SecureTech Corporation.

INTESSA Group[edit]

In May 2016, Sanzhar Rakhmetzhanov, Arman Esmurzaev and Sergey Chayzhunusov created the INTESSA Group holding company in order to diversify the field of activity of KPSP engineering design institute. The holding united KPSP, Ust-Kamenogorsk Industrial Valves Plant, Eurasia Engineering & Construction, SecureTech Corporation. As a result of cooperation of companies the holding achieved leading roles in high margin sectors of building and production industries.

The holding prioritizes investments in hi-tech industries, generation of cutting-edge engineering ideas and creation of new products. The clients of the holding are National corporations, major industrial holdings, oil and gas companies and multiple large scale private companies.

The competence of the holding company in managing a wide variety of complex construction projects is based on its own experience in managing engineering and technical human resource of 2000 specialists: designer engineers, draughtsmen, production staff of machine building enterprises and system integrators.

Currently INTESSA Group owns offices and production facilities on Tengiz field, Karabatan station in West Kazakhstan Region, production and engineering facilities in Karaganda, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Atyrau, Astana and Almaty.

Design and engineering investigations[edit]

Karaganda design institute KPSP (former Karaganda Promstroyproekt Institute LLP) was founded in 1959. Sanzhar Rakhmetzhanov in partnership with Arman Esmurzaev has bought the controlling share of the company in 2014.

For more than half a century the company has acquired extensive design experience. Among the completed projects there are metallurgical plants, oil and gas facilities, concentrating plants, port infrastructure, transport and logistics centres, heat and power stations, shopping malls, residential complexes.

KPSP was ranked 10 in the top-25 fastest growing Kazakhstan companies in 2016 in Forbes Kazakhstan ranking[10][11]. Net income reached 2,333.30 million tenge in 2015. One of the most criteria for admission to ranking was the income growth of no less than 50% for the last 4 years.

Construction management[edit]

Eurasia Engineering & Construction is a joint venture of KPSP and internationally recognized Italian construction holding Sicim S.p.A.[12], combining two of the most powerful engineering resources in the field of construction of oil and gas facilities. The company is also engaged in other public and industrial construction projects.

Eurasia Engineering & Construction manages construction projects at various design stages as an EPC-contractor. It can serve as a technical customer which allows utilisation its many years of experience in support of investment and construction projects. Eurasia Engineering & Construction manages projects of any criticality rating and executes variety of contract models including large-scale EPC / EPCM projects in Kazakhstan and Russia.

Manufacture and procurement of engineering and process equipment[edit]

Ust-Kamenogorsk Industrial Valves Plant is a part of INTESSA Group and one of the biggest machine engineering enterprises in Kazakhstan specializing in manufacture of pipeline valves and oil-field equipment. The plant is an official partner of BROEN - international leader in production of ball valves. The enterprise also produces equipment using South Korean DK-LOK Corporation technology, which is known in 46 countries of the world.

INTESSA Technologies, a subsidiary of INTESSA Group, is a Kazakhstani trading house for the procurement of turnkey engineering and process equipment from foreign, Russian and Kazakhstan manufacturers. Company is able to implement the whole range of equipment integration services: from design to start-up, commissioning and maintenance.

Innovative solutions in public safety and identification[edit]

In 2016 Sanzhar Rakhmetzhanov became the Chairman of the Board of SecureTech Corporation. The company specializes in the implementation of integrated solutions in the field of public safety and citizen identification. The company provides the following services:

  • Citizens' identification data solutions management;
  • Biometrical identification methods;
  • Public facilities security: roads, railway stations, airports, Smart City solutions;
  • Financial transactions and information security solutions;
  • Comprehensive solutions for critical facilities;

Swiss Commerce & Engineering, which is not a part of INTESSA Group, was formed by Sanzhar Rakhmetzhanov in 2016 with the aim of supplying innovative products to Kazakhstan, Russia and Uzbekistan markets:

  • Radiation monitoring systems;
  • Modern solutions in the sphere of criminal investigation and evidential base;
  • Radio communication devices;

  • Biometric solutions for access management.

The company was incorporated in Switzerland with offices in Geneva, Moscow and Astana.

Information technologies[edit]

Transportnye Informatsionnye Tekhnologii (Transport Information Technologies) LLC belongs to the Swiss Commerce & Engineering and its Russian partners with offices in Geneva, Moscow and Astana. The company was acquired following the strategy of developing the technological advantage of the business group. TransInfoTech LLP[6] is a joint venture of Transportnye Informatsionnye Tekhnologii, SecureTech Corporation LLP and Zerde National Infocommunication Holding JSC[13]. TransInfoTech develops, implements and maintains analytical information systems in the transport and logistics sector, focusing on the development of analytical information systems in the field of air transportation. The similar system is being developed for railway and sea logistics.

On the 14th of July 2018 TransInfoTech LLP and the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan signed an Agreement on the first Public–private partnership project in the field of transport digitalization in the Republic of Kazakhstan on the introduction and adaptation of the electronic document management system in the field of air freight "e-Freight"[14][15][16][17]

Since 2012, Transportnye Informatsionnye Tekhnologii LLC has been implementing the project on automation of document management in cargo air transportations as instructed by the Ministry of Transport (Russia).
