Sarah Nkonge Muwonge is a Ugandan businesswoman and school proprietor. She is a board member of the National Forestry Authority (NFA) and a former presidential advisor. She contested for the Lwengo woman member of parliament seat which she lost in 2016.[1][2][3][4][5]

She is the patron of She-Cranes (the Ugandan female netball team).[1][6][7]

Background and Education[edit]

Nkonge started school at Ntinda Primary School before proceeding to Nalinya Lwantale Primary School in Luwero district. She then went to Gayaza High School for her secondary and high school levels of education. She thereafter joined Kyambogo University for a Bachelor’s Degree in education.[1]

In 2012, Nkonge Muwonge was awarded a doctorate in Education, Planning, Administration and Management.

Career[edit]

Nkonge is a busoness woman who owns over six schools in kampala.[6]

She is board member at the National Forestry Authority (NFA), and a senior presidential advisor on land matters.[2]

She is also a member of the International Confederation of Principals (a body that brings school owners together).[6][8]

She has previously lectured at Makerere University and Kampala International University.[1]

Nkonge also taught at Kings College Budo in the 1970s, Nakasero Secondary School and Kitante Hill School among others.[1]

In 2021 Nkonge announced her support for National Unity Platform after publicly denouncing the National Resistance Movement party, she was formerly a member of Democratic Party (DP)[2][9][10]
