The School Of Athens is a charity organization that helps disadvantaged children and military veterans. They were officially created in 2018 but have been working to improve the lives of children since 2005. The Board of Directors is made up of a very diverse group of individuals that are mainly active duty United States Army. The board is made up of Whites, Blacks, Homosexuals and women. Their mission is to provide children with the basic needs so that they have the best chance possible to excel with school and even life. Every member has be directly effected by some type of childhood disadvantage and take on projects that they see will make the community better. The School Of Athens is a 501c3 organization that can be verified through GuideStar.org.

The School of Athens operated in the shadows from 2005-2018 when they were discovered by a local elementary students mother found out that her sons school lunch bet was paid off by a stranger. She then felt the need to report their great work to KSWO news, a local news station in Lawton, Oklahoma. KSWO contacted one of the founders Michael McGill if he would be willing to a television interview and talk about the work done by the School Of Athens. From that point forward, the charity has been able to take on multiple projects at a time and make a difference in a childs life when their parents find themselves in a rough spot.
