Schooner Charlotte Rhodes

The Charlotte Rhodes schooner was the star of The Onedin Line TV series, reated by Cyril Abraham. The ship was built in 1904 in Fjellebroens Shipyard, Danmark, by Frederick Hoffman. The vessel's original name was "Christian".

The Charlotte Rhodes was sold to a Dutch owner. At the end of the seventies, the Charlotte Rhodes was used as a ship for events and special occasions.

Loss of Charlotte Rhodes[edit]

She was destroyed by an explosion and a fire by arson in 11 October 1979 while mooring at Oester Dock in Amsterdam.[1]

Plans / drawing of the ship[edit]

There is a commercially available plan of Charlotte Rhodes as a model ship from a Netherland company [1], but this plan is very undetailed and unreliable, based on available pictures and photographs. A reconstruction is advisable using original photos and movie schenes.
