Shaheen (Urdu: شاہین}), is a Urdu historical fiction television series. Written and Produced by Naseem Hijazi , it is based on the situation of the Muslims in Granada (Spain) in that era, when they were about to be expelled from Spain in 1492.[10] [11] [12] This drama also very beautifully depicts the reasons of the destruction of Muslim's Empire (Nasrids) in Granada.[13] The novel is a combination of bravery, spirit, courage and strong faith of Islamic heroes. One of that hero, Shaheen aka Badar Bin Mugheera was sketched out beautifully in this drama. Its also based on the life of Nasrids Muhammad XII ,[14] who was the 22nd and last Nasrid ruler of the Emirate of Granada in Iberia.[15] [16] It was originally broadcast on PTV.[17] [18]
