The Shait Pakia secondary school is a full pledged school located in Shaitpakia, Nalchity Upazila of Bangladesh. The Shait Pakia school is founded by Hazi Abdul Gani Khan, Political leader before Awami league was formed and also Zamindar of Jhalokati. Hazi Abdul Gani Khan was a very nice and caring person who used to empathize the griefs of local community. He was very eager to provide the local children the same educational facilities that he got however not all, local people could not pay school fees so he decided to establish a school with no fees at all. Mr.Gani and his sub-ordinates created a small school of their own funds at first. The school was first established in the year 1967 with the help of M Hatem Ali Talukder, M Shafiuddin Howlader, M Milon Uddin Howlader, Sree Laxmikanto Mistri and M Azahar Ali Khan. In the mission of educating all the localities to create a educated and smart society, Mr. Abul Bashar, Sree Gourango Das Samadder, M Noor Mohammad Mina, Abdul Matin Mia, Abdul Malek Mia, Mohammad Jalal Ahmed and his friend M Kabir Hossain, Sree Radhika Ranjan Devnath started teaching the kids for no fees or honorarium.

After Liberation War

During the liberation war in 1971, the school was unable to continue with its educational activities but as soon as the war ended it began coasting in its educational level again. After the war, Abdur Rab Khan(Member of Khan family) was in charge of this school, who managed to help the school regain it's education level once again.

The most contributed members of the school for restoring the educational activities after the liberation war are, Mr. Ali Akbar Khan, Mr Gouranga Lal Samadder, Babu Sudhansu Kumar Mistri, Abdul Matin Mia, Moulovi Noor Mohammad Mina Abdul Latif Mia, Abdul Barek Khan, Teachers and Sree Debendra Nath Mistri. Along with these people there were other people who deserve a great applause, Class IV staff from Shait Pakia School, and Abdus Salam Howlader who collected students by visiting houses in the area of Shait Pakia.

Recognition

The school had been recognised by the educational board of Jessore giving the school the authority to be a full pledged school back in Shait Pakia on 1st January of the year 1974. During the period, all the money needed to run the school was given by members of the Khan Family. Soon, the school recieved a donation of 1.59 acres from Khan Saifur Rahman who was a senior advocate of the supreme court of Bangladesh. Khan Saifur Rahman donated the land on the behalf of it's original owners through power of Attorney from Mr. Alok Kumar Chokroborty, Usha Rani Devi and Motaharuddin Khan. In the year 1992, the school received another 1.12 acres from Mr.Khan A Karim who is also an advocate by occupation. The life long members of this prestigious school are Advocate Khan A Karim and Mr. Malek Miah has given more 1.12 acre of land to this High School. Advocate Mr. Khan Saifur Rahman, Advocate Khan A Karim, Mr. Abdul Malek Howlader, Mr. Abdul Karim Khan, Mr. Mortuza Ali, Mr. M Monirul Islam, Mr. Jannatul Ferdaous, Mr. M Chand Mia.

Students

Currently there are over 300 students who are receiving education at this prestigious school. Amongst the children, there are around 145 male students while the number of female students in this school is 183. This is due to the special opportunities this school provides in addressing gender equality. The teachers and managing committee encourages families to provide girls the same opportunity assuring them that they will do great since even our Prime Minister is also a female. There is a number of schools around this institution. They are Premhar High School, Udayan Girls High School and Amirunnessa High school. The number of students in Shait Pakia school continues to fall because of these new schools which were built around it.

The Science club and science section had began its journey on 1978 and thanks to that this school is specialising in sections such as Science, Agriculture, computer and Arts.

Mr. Alamgir Hossain Khan who is also a member of the Khan Family, opened a Funding system/trust in the name of deceased Ashraf Ali Khan to help the poor children as well as to provide teacher and students with an award.

There have been a number of presidents who worked for the betterment of the school. Currently the president of this school is Mr. MD Salauddin Khan Selim who has been a candidate for Nalchity Upazila Chairman from Awami league between 2009-2010. He his also a reputed businessman of the country and has been recognised as a CIP for a number of times. His Grandfather Hazi Abdul Gani Khan (Zamindar) was the founder of this prestigious institute. Mr. Salauddin has been linked with a number of organisations around the country and is also the Chairman of Carlo Laboratories Ltd., Shifat Bright Wash, Chorduani Ice Mills ltd. and many more.

He was very eager to provide the local children with educational facilities as he knew that local people could not pay school fees for their children so he decided to establish a school with no fees at all.
