Shirley Sands

Shirley Sands was born in east London on 17th March 1936. She could sing at a very early age and at 15 won the Bridgwater Carnival as a solo singer.
In 1957 she appeared in Bells Are Ringing at the Colliseum where she understudied Janet Blair. She went on to appear as Rosalie in Carnival at the Lyric Theatre.
Shirley Sands died in Richmond, London on January 19th 2023
