Search ShopDrop Sample Sales (mobile app) on Amazon.ShopDrop Sample Sales is an iOS mobile app that makes the discovery process of sample sales simple and attainable. The app provides information on brand names, locations, times, dates and descriptions. ShopDrop updates frequently to keep up with the ever changing sample sale announcements, and aims to specifically list brands that are offering a discount between 60 and 90 percent.[1]

    History[edit]

ShopDrop was founded by Cory Bishop in 2014. That year, the team was invited to pitch at TechCrunch Disrupt NY where it won the Audience Choice award.[2][3] Due to low numbers, the company decided to pull the app and relaunch in 2016 with a focus on Sample Sales. It also expanded to multiple markets including Los Angeles, London, and Paris.[4]

In 2017, ShopDrop was selected to be a part of the NYU Entrepreneurial Institute’s Summer Lean Launchpad program. Here, the company changed hands over to current CEO Estee Goldschmidt. During that time, ShopDrop earned funding through a number of competitions and secured a revenue stream to support them. After completing the program, ShopDrop decided to cut down their markets and focus solely on New York City.[5]

    Events & Early Access Launch[edit]

The relaunch of the app doubled as an introduction to app-user events for ShopDrop. Their first VIP event was hosted at Katya Dobryakova’s SoHo boutique.[6] The app has also partnered with brands for early access to sample sales.[7] ShopDrop often attends or previews sales listed in order to promote on their social media pages.

    User Feedback & Mobile Payment[edit]

ShopDrop utilizes their social media platforms to gauge user's interests in order to determine which sample sales to feature. They often attend sales or reach out to attendees for feedback on events and user experience in order to direct further updates accordingly. In December 2017, ShopDrop began testing their mobile payment at the Yigal Azrouël sale.[8]
