Skillsme have created an online platform designed to help developers support their coding skills by completing practical projects and receiving endorsements from industry leaders from around the world. Skillsme also serves as a talent pool for recruiters and companies making an easy, more effective alternative to sifting through CVs.[1] Since its founding in February 2020, Skillsme has grown to over 10,000 users in over 50 countries [2]
History[edit]
Early years[edit]
Skillsme was founded in early 2020 when University of Auckland student Zifeng Liang, Terry Jiang, and AUT Business alumnus Bernard Leong learned the difficulties in hiring developers and that a staggering 94% of graduate developers struggled to get hired in the tech industry because they lacked practical experience that companies are looking for.[3]. To solve this problem, Skillsme has developed a way for developers to complete a Hackathon style project to support their skills and experience.
