Snake Pit: A Punk Rock Murder Mystery

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Snake Pit: A Punk Rock Murder Mystery is a murder mystery by author C. A. Jaymes published in 2018. It is set in the fictional Viper Den ca. 1979. The Viper Den is a punk rock club loosely based on the famed West Hollywood nightclub, The Whisky a Go Go. The novel's main character, Sugar Smith, lands a gig with The Viper Den's house band, Snake Pit, but murder and intrigue quickly ensue. Sugar is forced to figure out who killed Snake Pit's former singer before the killer harms Sugar herself or any of her family members.

The novel evokes the ethos of The Whisky a Go Go's heydey as a leading venue for LA's punk and alt-rock scene during the late-70's and early-80's.
