Sonic Mars is a computer-animated film produced by Shochiku, Sony, Radius-TWC. Sega and Pacific Data Images and distributed by The Weinstein Company.

The film grossed $2 billion dollars at the US box office, even at the worldwide market as well.

The film recieved a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics praising the animation, story, voice acting (asspecially Bob Iger's voice acting) and charm to the movie.

The film stars Bob Iger as every character in the movie.

Plot[edit]

The story begins with Sonic going on a adventure training himself and going on the tornado bonus round, he then ends up defeating Chaos: God Of Destruction and ends up on the zone of being underwater, but survives there, he then goes on another adventure, in the final battle, he defeats Chaos again and the story ends with Sonic surviving another chaotic course.

Animation[edit]

Animation was handled by Pacific Data Images in PDI of Japan and additional animation by PDI Canada and was done in the headquarters of both of these studios instead of home.

Production[edit]

In July 3, 2019, PDI announced that they are working on Sonic Mars based upon the cancelled Sonic game aimed for the Sega 32X.

In 2020, the title was revealed as Sonic Mars, in December 2, 2021, production ended quietly.

The first trailer was released in July 3, 2021.

Release[edit]

The film was originally scheduled for release on November 14, 2021, but was delayed to January 6, 2022, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In November 2020, the film was pushed up to November 24, 2021, but a month later, the film was delayed to December 8, 2021, due to Encanto taking its release slot.

The film was released in December 8, 2021 internationally and on Japan in December 9, 2021.

Box Office[edit]

The film grossed $15.6 million by its opening day in Australlia. The film grossed a worldwide total of $2,048 billion as one of the highest-grossing films during the COVID-19 pandemic, causing this film to be a box office success.

Critical Reception[edit]

The film earned a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes indecating "generally favorable and lovable reviews". Paul Tibbet, who is one of the showrunners of SpongeBob SquarePants, said "This film is a lovely connection and the return of the success of Sonic, like it used to make the game series successful. You should like this movie for the whole family."

Matalleric gave the movie 100 out of 100 indecating "generally favorable and lovable reviews."
