Soundiron[edit]

Soundiron, LLC is an American developer of virtual instruments and sample libraries for songwriters, composers and sound designers.[1] The company specializes in sound libraries made for Native Instruments Kontakt and Kontakt Player.[2][3]

The brand was founded in the San Francisco Bay area in 2011 by Mike Peaslee, Gregg Stephens, and Chris Marshall.

Soundiron frequently collaborates with companies like Propellerhead, Ableton, Korg, Presonus, Image Line, Best Service, Time & Space, Crypton, Plugin Boutique, Kontakt Hub, Audio Plugin Deals, and Splice.

The company has frequently stated in interviews that their goal is to "democratize music creation"[4]and make it accessible and affordable for anyone with interest.

In 2015, they collaborated with Brad Hoyt to record his Harp Guitar.[5]

Soundiron created Symphony Series Brass and Winds in collaboration with Native Instruments in 2016.[6][7][8][9]These libraries were met with positive reviews[10][11][12][13], and are now included in the NI Komplete bundle.

In October 2017, Native Instruments hosted a 50% off Soundiron bundle sale that included 16 different libraries made for the Kontakt Player.[14]

Soundiron primarily uses Reaper for audio editing and production, and contracted ExtremRaym to create custom scripts for their workflow.[15]

In 2017, the company co-created a library series with Blake Ewing called Sonespheres 01: Distance and Sonespheres 02: Origins.[16][17]

In 2017, Soundiron created multiple built in rack extension instruments for Propellerhead Reason 10.[18][19]

They regularly release Micro libraries, which are introductory low cost products that include a discounted upgrade path.[20]

John Valasis co-created the Vintage Keys series of libraries.[21]

Soundiron released Hyperion Strings Micro in June 2018, which was highly reviewed by Sample Library Review[22], Time & Space[23], and users of the library[24][25]. It is the first in a series of Hyperion orchestral products that the company plans to make.
