Superplastic

Superplastic is a digital agency representing provocative synthetic talent in fashion, art, and popular culture. The company was founded in Burlington, VT by Paul Budnitz (Kidrobot, Ello, Budnitz Bicycles) and Huck Gee (Skullhead, Gold Life, The Dapper Little Scoundrels).

History[edit]

In 2018, Budnitz and Gee launched Superplastic on Kickstarter with 20 limited edition art and vinyl toys made by 16 artists including Dalek, Junko Mizuno, Huck Gee, Ricardo Carvolo[1], Jake Parker, El Grand Chamaco, Camilla D’Erricco, Joe Ledbetter, Mark Gmehling, Sket One, Tado, Flying Fortress, Okuda, and Pete Fowler.[2]"

Janky Series One[edit]

The first series of Janky toys featured 16 world-famous artists from the world of Designer Toys and Street art. Each taking the Janky prototype and creating their own artist impression.[3] Each Janky toy design is available in a surprise box (blind box) so you never know which design you're getting until you have opened the box. The ratios of each artist can be found on the box artwork. Ranging from 1/24 to 1/240. As an example; for every 24 Janky boxes opened you're likely to find 1 of the 1/24 ratio. The higher the ratio, the rarer the design.
