From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

The Barre Cross is a large, flat cross located in Barre, Massachusetts. It was built by John P. Harty Sr., who while reciting the Lord's prayer, heard a loud and clear voice that told these exact words, "Finish making the pond. Then clear the land and level the field. Then make a cross 200 feet long, 25 feet wide, in the middle of the field. Then plant rye that will grow four feet high around the cross. Then put the Ten Commandments on the cross. Then put my Commandment on the cross, 'Love thy neighbor as thyself.' Noreen is the chosen one to do the art work. Then people from miles around will come to see a work of art."- all from the Worcester Sunday Telegram. As commanded John did so, creating each and every request.
