The story is about A Fighter, a Hermit and a Thief, who reluctantly have to work together and search through the forest of Soza to find a Magical Sword that can control a person's thoughts. [3]

The Bastard Sword can only be claimed by one, but who will be the lucky one?

Filming[edit | edit source]

The film was shot on the Sony A7S Camera contrary to popular principles no sound was recorded due to time constraints and being so near to Gatwick Airport. All Actor voices were dubbed by their original actors later in the Rusalka Records Recording Studio.

Location[edit | edit source]

The Majority of the film was filmed at Ashdown Forest. Ashdown forest is most notably known in media for being the setting of Hundred Acre Wood from the Winnie The Pooh Novels

The film's award winning score was composed by Eveshka Ghost and featured a full classical double album.

The score itself has won three international awards

Release[edit | edit source]

The film was premiered at East Grinstead cinema on December the 9th 2018 and was the second film to be premiered here.[7]

It’s also the first fantasy film to created entirely in East Grinstead[8]

It received lots of local support from radio and local newspapers.

Tickets were sold through the crowdfunding scheme Kickstarter.[9]

The Bastard Sword has one of the longest runtimes for fantasy films and is among the 50 longest fantasy feature films in the world. It’s total runtime is 3 hours and 2 minutes.[11]
