The Broken Ones is a 2017 American drama feature film directed by Elyse Russel.[1], marking her directorial debut for a feature film[2]. The film was produced by Janek Ambros, Charlie Bewley, Julie Helton, Cece King, Ramfis Myrthil, and Jeff Solema. The screenplay, written by Cece King, tells the story of two strangers despite having their own issues help the other to conquer the fear and struggles controlling their lives. [1] The film was inspired by King’s battle to cope with the death of her father after losing him in the 9/11 attacks. The film stars Cece King, Charlie Bewley, Meg Donnelly, Constance Schulman, Margaret Colin, and James Russo.[3]

The film's earliest release was June 15, 2017[5]. It’s theatrical release was July 10th 2018; it was distributed by Multicom Entertainment Group.[6] The world premiere was at the 2017 Soho International Film Festival as an Opening Night Film.[7]

Reception[edit]

On Rotten Tomatoes, the film has an audience score of 78% based on 21 user reviews[8]. On Imdb, it has received an average rating of 7.4 out of 10 based on 31 ratings.[9]

The film was an Official Selection at the 2017 Soho International Film Festival[9], 2017 Long Beach International Film Festival[10], and the 2017 Orlando Film Festival[11]
