The Creatress, a dramedy, is about a bestselling author, Eryn Bellow (Lindy Booth), who seeks literary revenge against a critic (Peter Bogdanovich) who authors her fake memoir, much to the delight of her puppeteering agent (Fran Drescher). The film is written and directed by Jason Cook and produced by Café Oscuro Films and Digital Cuvée.[1][2]

The film was an Official Selection at the Madrid International Film Festivals, with 4 nominations (Best Feature Film[3], Best Director of a Feature Film[4], Best Lead Actress in a Feature Film[5], and best feature comedy[6]. It was an Official Selection for the Nice and Madrid International Film Festivals, and winner of Best Lead Actress in a Feature Film (Lindy Booth) in May 2019 in Nice and Best Feature Comedy in Madrid in August 2019. The film premiered in Los Angeles on July 31st, 2019.[7]

Young, bestselling author Eryn Bellow concludes her bookstore tour with her agent selling film rights and closing a six figure advance for her follow-up. Publicity sells Eryn as a living literary legend. Critics get offended at the claim. Bad reviews begin to pile up. One critic goes so far as to write a fake memoir to ruin her career.

Eryn attempts to write her way out of the public fray, through the noise and writers block, to reclaim her voice in the minds of her readers. Along the quest through her subconscious, she hopes to prove a happy ending is not always a bad thing.
