Synopsis[edit]
The movie talks about the story of the young cameleer Hanif following his encounter with the ambiguous "bushman" Mal. Mal asks Hanif for support to help him reach the furnace and melt the gold bars he stole from the British Crown with a promise to share the loot with him. The boy accepts: that money will be his way of demonstrating to the family that his choice to go to Australia to find luck was successful and thus be considered a man by his father. But the Crown troops pursue them through the boundless inhospitable territories of West Australia, where the heat and the gold rush will lead the protagonists to difficult choices, extreme gestures and madness.
