The International Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Council[edit]

The International Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Council (IPOSC) is an international committee that was created in July of 2013 by the American Academy of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS). This council is comprised of many national and supranational organizations that all lead international efforts for preserving and restoring blindness in children around the world. The council is comprised of seven committees: advocacy and outreach, childhood visual impairment, communications, ethics, research, training and education, and vision screening.[1]

In 2013, IPOSC also became a member of the International Agency for Prevention of Blindness (IAPB)joining the efforts and voices of many other global eye organizations around the world to make the necessary impact on eye health policies and practice around the world.
