The Janson Directive is an upcoming action thriller, based on the novel of the same name by Robert Ludlum.

Plot[edit]

Former Navy SEAL and legendary spy Paul Janson, leaves the U.S. government to start his own agency. However, he finds himself being hunted down by his former bosses and must solve a massive conspiracy.

On May 18, 2016, Dwayne Johnson will co-produce the film adaptation of The Janson Directive through his Seven Bucks Productions film studio for Universal Pictures, with James Vanderbilt and Akiva Goldsman writing the script and producing along with Vanderbilt’s partners at Mythology Entertainment, Brad Fischer and William Sherak, as well as Goldsman's company Weed Road and Ben Smith and Jeffrey Weiner of Captivate Entertainment.[1]

Casting[edit]

On May 18, 2016, Dwayne Johnson was set to play Paul Janson.[1] On April 30, 2018, John Cena was set to replace Johnson as Janson.[2]

Future[edit]

On May 18, 2016, Universal and Captivate Entertainment announced that The Janson Directive will be a part of a cinematic universe of Robert Ludlum adaptations like: The Parsifal Mosaic, The Sigma Protocol, Covert One and crossover films outside of the Jason Bourne franchise.[1]
