The Sploogening

The Sploogening is a British-American media franchise created by Luna Tick (she/they), Rei Jaidar (they/them), Guch Christ (varies) and later DD (varies). It features fan-edits of films and television shows usually comprised of dubbed-over audio from the creators and other editing changes that alters the original story in comedic ways. The franchise is currently spans one film, The Intersplooge (2020/21), and one upcoming web series, The Sploogening Presents Sploogelock (2021).

Films

The Intersplooge (2020)

The Intersplooge was originally released on May 29, 2020. It took Luna Tick, Rei Jaidar and Guch Christ two days to edit and did not contain any voice acting from them. It is a fan-edit of The Interview and samples audio from Wikipedia's Cock and Ball Torture, Yogscast's Dwarf Hole (Diggy Diggy Hole), Ninjago and CallMeCarson's Kim Jong Splooge (which features predominantly). It also featured a sad cover of The Gummybear Song by Rei Jaidar.

In September 2020, Luna Tick removed The Intersplooge from her channel due to its dark humour which was "not acceptable anymore". She later apologised to anyone they "may have offended" in The Intersplooge.

Alternative Versions

On January 8, 2021, Luna Tick uploaded an edit of The Intersplooge, originally known as the "director's cut" but later branded as the "[SLURS REMOVED] cut", with the opening credits cut out and a song containing a slur cut out and replaced by Chacarron. They referred to it as "the banned masterpiece return[ing]". Rei Jaidar and Guch Christ were not involved in the director's cut.2

On 17 May 2021, Luna Tick announced she was remastering The Intersplooge in 1080p along with removing the watermark, replacing her deadname with her preferred name and new scenes being created specifically for the "extended cut". In June 2021, Luna announced that she had accidentally deleted the project files from The Intersplooge's 1080p remaster and no interest in restarting. It is unlikely a release will happen.

The Yummy Gummy Search for Benedict Cumberbatch (TBA)

A second Sploogening film was planned for release in 2020 titled The Yummy Gummy Search for Benedict Cumberbatch, a fan-edit of The Yummy Gummy Search for Santa, but entered development hell and was then cancelled along with the rest of the Sploogening series due to the creators, known as the Buddies, splitting up.

In November 2020, the Buddies re-formed and The Sploogening was revived. The Yummy Gummy Search for Benedict Cumberbatch is set for release after The Sploogening Presents Sploogelock.

Web Series

The Sploogening Presents Sploogelock (2021)

On Weed Day 2021, the Buddies announced The Sploogening would return with a three-part web series titled The Sploogening Presents Sploogelock. It will be a fan-edit of Sherlock. The character Kim Jong Splooge, from The Intersplooge, will return in the form of Mrs. Hudson and will be voiced by Guch Christ instead of Kim Jong Splooge due to the CallMeCarson Underage Sexting Scandal.
