The Tarlton Theatre is an historic theater located in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Originally known as the West Theater, the building was constructed in 1924-1925 in the Art Deco and Art Moderne styles. It was reopened December 2018 as a performing arts theater with bars and a restaurant.[1]
History[edit]
The West Theater was designed and constructed as an automobile dealership in 1924-1925, and was converted to a single-screen cinema in 1941.[2] After being vacant for years, the building and adjoining properties were purchased and restored in 2018 and renamed The Tarlton Theatre, for Green Bay businessman and co-owner Tarlton Knight.[3]
In 2019, Green Bay's first new mayor in over a decade held his victory party at The Tarlton Theatre.[4]
